Family Owned and Operated Since 1941
Leadore Angus operates as part of the historic Little Eight Mile Ranch, established in 1941 and proudly owned by the Tyler family since the early 1990s.
Today, the ranch is owned by Karl and Donna Tyler and managed by their daughter, Kristine, with their son-in-law Matt Robbins along with their four children (Braxton, Alexa, McKinze and Kamryn) continuing a multi-generational legacy of dedication, grit and stewardship.
Karl’s roots in ranching run deep—he worked at Ellsworth Ranch, less than a mile from Leadore Angus, during high school. Later, while selling cars at Wally Orvick Chevrolet in Moscow, Idaho, he met Donna, the love of his life. The two married in August of 1980 and embarked on a journey that would ultimately lead them back to the land they hold dear.
In 1984, Karl and Donna moved to Colville, Washington, where they purchased and ran a Chevrolet dealership before relocating to Missoula, Montana, in 1986 to continue their legacy in the automotive business. Despite their success in the industry, their true passion has always been ranching, and they have poured their hearts into raising Angus cattle that can live and perform amid the challenging conditions of Leadore’s high elevation terrain.
Our cattle program is built on rangeland performance producing Black Angus bulls that put on pounds with native grass, handle high elevation terrain, and meet the demands of hardworking ranchers. From calving ease to longevity, our genetics are proven across the Northwest to deliver results where it matters most, on the range.
